of those of you playing, i'm curious what system specs you are playing with and what kind of frame rates you are getting with the graphics up and down. I'm curious if my little laptop will be able to run the game or not.

Radeon 6970 (running at 1920 x 1200) intel i7 860 (2.8ghz) 8 gigs of ram
Game runs great. Only time it dips in FPS for me is when there's a ton of people on screen (and that only happens in the trade center in Ul'Dah). But even then it's bearable.

Does anyone run in full screen mode? If so, do you have any issues? Every time I tried last night I got the big bad blue screen. I have a feeling this is my issue as my computer is getting close to 5 years old. I prefer full screen mode when gaming as I the bottom bar is a distraction.

I run full screen when I play, and I've had no issues.
If it's helpful to you, the blue screen error is a software fault from windows, rather than hardware failing. If you get the error code from the blue screen, usually 0x00000000 followed by two letters or numbers, you can google search the code to find out why windows is turning off, and try to target the specific problem for a quick fix. Although, if it's a blue screen error that specifically only happens when you put the game full screen, it's probably your video card drivers. You can try an update from the webpage of your video card manufacturer, if one is available, but if your card is five years old it might not be getting updates anymore.
If you need help finding out what video card you have, I can give you some steps to check on that as well.

Thanks Trapsinger, yes it is a video card issue, the display driver is trying to recover from a timeout. I am running two ATI Radeon HD4870 in CrossFireX. It does not appear that ATI is updating this anymore I tried again and got it to go full screen, and then I could not see the cursor So I got the latest Razer Naga driver thinking it could be the issue. Nope. The computer (Doghouse TL4870c) has been stellar up to now so I cannot complain. Looks like I know what I will be asking Santa for this year.

No, unfortunately not for my card or operating system. At least not yet, I will keep looking now that I saw this.
Thanks Trapsinger! I appreciate it.

After some assistance from Trapsinger and looking around the web I saw a post on the Doghouse Systems website forums. The post was a recommendation to another owner for a graphics card upgrade. So, I posted that I was having some issues with full screen in FF XIV and it was good to know there was a recommended upgrade/replacement for my card. Here is the reply that was posted: Hey Cavallina,
Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your system. It sounds like there's a problem with the secondary (bottom) video card since the problem only happens in Full Screen mode. Windowed mode does not utilize CrossfireX, therefore the bottom card is not used in Windows mode. You can either disable CrossfireX in the Catalyst Control Center control panel, or physically remove the bottom card and Crossfire bridge. The latter being the better choice if you're comfortable inside your system. Feel free to call our support for help in doing this. Sounds like your system warranty is expired as it came with 3 years coverage, however XFX offers lifetime coverage on their video cards. If your cards are XFX, I'd recommend you contact them for a replacement or feel free to work with us to facilitate this for you. Just look at your cards inside and see if they display the XFX logo. If not XFX, you can either continue running on the remaining card, or look for a replacement on sites like ebay.com.
Hope this helps. Please contact our support if you need further assistance.Holy crap! My computer is almost 2 years past the warranty and here is a company offering assistance and providing guidance. Unfortunately, my cards are not XFX so that is not an option. I just wanted to pass on some awesome customer service that I think is pretty cool. I can still run the game with no problems. Surfing the net causes it to crash along with running FF XIV in full screen - sometimes. I have actually got it to run in full screen, however, there is no cursor.

What brand is the card? XFX isn't the only company providing lifetime support.
