Tons of Bugs, outdated graphics and almost 0 updates. The game mechanics were so easy to exploit too. I could set up a macro park 2 of my toons inside a rock or tree next to a camp (one of them being an AEOer) and go to bed. By the next morning my new toon will have leveled around 30 or so levels. The leveling grind and farming was also terrable in that game. Except for it being player run the content sucked. 98% of the world was just open grond for folks to build in with pockets of "wild" territories to go get your gold and levels from. When the game first came out there was a ton of world events that kept the game fun even with out the pvp but as time went on they quit doing them.

A quick story to give you a feel of what Shadowsbane combat was so pass this up if your not in the mood to read this sort of drivel. The game had lost most of its players already and the world was pretty lawless. I was being hired by a guy who owned his own town called Trader Joe's. It was the biggest trading town on the server and most folks went and bought stuff from there making Trader Joe pretty rich in game. I was the only guy TJ hired cause I had an honest rep. There was 2 large groups of pkers running around at the time: The Shadow Syndicate (who I saw in WoW and who saw me, but nothing they could do to me in WoW heh heh) and The Blooded. One day I got a tell from Joe saying that he was having trouble with a guy named "Whats in your Wallet" from the Blooded (No RP names there ) Whats was an assassin and would stay stealthed in town and kill shoppers and steal their gold. I had fought him before and knew he was a better fighter than me. Not because of his class, race or gear, but because he was good AND he new how to spec his assassin for his play style. TJ summoned me to the edge of town than ran like hell before stuff got started. I went in to town to take Whats down. Not soon after I get into town I get a tell from Whats, "Oh look, its my favorite meat." I go into the nearest building and wait. Trader Joe gave me admin privileges so I could lock and unlock doors to buildings. I'm in there for about 5 solid minutes wondering if Whats left or if he was in the room with me. There are shoppers but none are being attacked. My buffs are running out so I rebuff. The second I buff my last buff Whats Stuns me. He can't back-stab cause my backs against the wall, but he is doing tons of damage to me. My pet attacks and just before I'm dead I lock the doors and trans-locate outside the building. He is stuck inside with my pet. I go into Def stance and sit down to accelerate my healing and I watch his life barely drop down. My pet gets killed in seconds. I open the door, step inside, dot him than trans-locate away. He can't stealth cause of the dot. Through the door I start debuffing him. He comes out looking for me. My trans-locate has a 10 second cool down I think. If he gets to me before I kill him this time I'm dead and looted. I drop the dot on him again to refresh it and start running for the maze of buildings. I have to keep him in sight so I have a chance to finish him or the fight starts over and I know he won't fall for the same thing twice. He don't follow me, but runs the other way. That was bad. He can't stealth till the dot wears off but he can put a building inbetween us till it does. In desperation I try to trans-locate on top of him and stun him. He stunned himself seconds before I do in anticipation of what I was going to try. The stun he used stuns for 3 seconds and makes you stun immune for 9 seconds afterwords. I land on him and he is ready. He stuns me than back-stab and its all over. I rez nekked. I sent him a tell, "Good fight bro." He sends back, "Your getting better. " I ended up becomeing freinds with him later and a few other pkers cuase I fought them so often. I earned some respect because I never got mad and because I never gave up. I wasnt' a bad fighter either. I have been able to beat players 20 and 25 levels above me on many occasions. And lost to a few good players 10 and 15 below me. I always said "good fight" weather it was or not. I was asked by the blooded once to help them defend thier town from another pk guild. I was honored so I did.
