Regarding the queues... I know it sucks right now, and I know we've lost a few potential members due to the crazy queues, but it should eventually fix itself. Either Trion will open up the limit for the server, or more and more people will just decide to move on, which in turn will give Faeblight more breathing room. If we didn't have so much planned going into this and, especially now, invested, I would have suggested a change. But we would have undoubtedly lost people due to such a change, and I'd be writing something about that in place of this. No one has said anything to prompt me to write this. Everyone has been...ya know...ADULT about it, so I guess I wanted to thank everyone who has stuck in there or who plan to come back after the opening week willies wear off (it's like you've experienced this before!). New members and old, it's already been a fantastic experience having you all (hot) in game, and I look forward to our future of gaming together (well,...however long THAT is). Management

The queues are smaller today than they were yesterday and they'll be smaller tomorrow...and the day after that. Everyone has been super patient and I'm sure before long (launch) there will be zero wait to get in.
Thanks for the post man!

Queues were much lower today as opposed to yesterday. Right now at around 7 or 8 pm server time (I'm a late night east coaster anyway) its under 300, yesterday was over 1200.
It also helps that more and more people are moving out of the starting areas as they level up as I think that opens up the server a bit more so everyone isn't choking up the zones.
Thanks for the post Slurms!

I rolled up a new guy today, and the start area was empty. The first wave is rough, but it moves fast. I think the server is trending in the right direction. Plenty of people, which will be ideal in the long run. Anyone have fond memories of being on servers that got merged into other servers? Me neither (the fond part, that is).

Yeah well, at least we can get in this time, and not have to worry about what channel of the zone we're in.
Familiarity breeds contempt - and children.

The new servers are opening up an hour earlier than our pre-order ones today.
Smart, *SMART*, move. Here's hoping it actually works.

I followed the world of collectable miniatures (star wars of course) for a while. People will bitch about everything. One guy's comment was "if they put $20 bills in each pack, someone would bitch because the bills got crumpled up".

Lol, dude's got a point.
I'm just concerned because WAR did the same knee jerk reaction, they just released a bunch of servers at launch.
Which worked initially, but pop problems are virtually every server for RvR is one of the major downfalls.
Then again, Trion already has cross server BGs so what difference does it make?

Well, I'm not sure what option they really have. I'm pretty understanding when it comes to launch queues. But even I think 5 and 6 hour waits are pretty irritating. That being said, the queue during prime time last night was an hour and a half, so it has gotten better already. I can deal with that, with the expectation that it will improve with time.
It's really a no win situation for Trion from a PR stand point. Piss people off with excessively long queues or end up with some low pop servers down the road.

I really hope the new servers fix it, but if not, I would hope that if a couple more days pass and servers like Faeblight are still packed, that Trion would take the easy way out by offering free transfers to similar servers.
I think it would fix the problem if there still is one at that point.

This is why I cut every MMO at launch a huge amount of slack. It really is.

Just an interesting side note: It's 2:30pm EST on hard release day and there are 6 NA servers listed as "High" population right now. 5/6 are PvP servers and the other is Faeblight.
