I've played in two of the PvP Scenarios (Warfronts) and they are virtually identical to the WAR ones in nature... albeit far fewer of them.
They introduce a new WF each "tier", which you can try as well as the previous WFs.
Tier 1's Black Garden uses the same mechanic as Mourkain's Temple from WAR, and is good fun. The only other one I've tried is the Codex - which has 4 capture points and you get varying amounts of points for holding each at the same time. This WF requires a lot more organisation, not a word synonymous with PvP instances.
I've no idea what the upper ones are like, but I'm sure they're aware of what the most popular scenarios were in WAR and will look to replicate them. There better be a Tor Anroc - I loved that scenario... although suspect I was in the minority.
No idea what the oPvP is like - don't think there is any to speak of really. There are areas where both realms can do stuff, but as far as I'm aware there is no area that if you enter flags you for PvP like there was in WAR. So I hope Trion add one of these zones... Ideally something like Praag's map - that was always fun with lots of alleyways - but I'd settle with anything with a Keep or two to siege! Of course - I'm sure all DAOCers would love a Darkness Falls PvP underground dungeon... and not some huge Egyptian-style zone that is not even remotely like DF... despite that being the brief from the WAR community! (not bitter...)

Hmmm. I wasn't a PvP fan until WAR. Most are just e-sports arenas, but if there's a strong correlation between WAR and Rift's scenarios, I might have to check em out.
The open RvR zones, though...I'd love those.

Its definitely (for the first time ever!) fair to say that on the backbone of such polish and refinement we can actually realistically hope for major new features to be added onto the game.
If an RvR type Zone were to be implemented, or some form of effective organized world PvP I could seriously see myself sticking around in Rift for quite some time.

I didn't even consider that point. We've been growing accustomed to saying, "why are you adding things when there's so much that needs fixed"
Having a game where a content addition might not be a bad thing is....well....not a bad thing.

Can you imagine if they were able to add content that wasn't broken on release and didn't break in the future? Like they were developing a product they actually expect sane people to shovel money at them. I could deal with future MMO's acting like this, I could deal quite well with that indeed.

Here here. I think the game looks like it's pretty much in place, so the future updates they're talking about for a month or so down the line are to add more content, rather than finish the launch.
I would love a DF style dungeon, and an RVR area like the frontiers wouldn't be so bad either. That was a great thing about DAOC and I know a lot of WAR players were sad that something similar didn't get into that game, at least not in time.
So far the game runs very well, with all the maintenance they've done during the betas I would certainly hope so. I'll see everybody after work tomorrow, probably around 8 EST.
Architecture is the art of how to waste space.

HAWT!
I agree. I especially hope that Bioware is able to do this as well. I am tired, as are we all I'm sure, of studios just adding more broken content in an attempt to hold the players they have, rather than fixing the overall experience...counting on the one or two "unique features" to draw the money in.

That should be their subtitle/slogan/tagline:
