Yeah, remember that game? The shortest lived 'MMO' (if you even consider it that) in history? Its back, and f2p this time around. www.gamersfirst.com/apbAre any of you interested? I'll definitely be playing it a good bit. Hope to see some of you guys in the action too. I bought the game at launch and loved it, even with its shortcomings. Its a terrific game to hop in for some quick multiplayer fun, even if the game does become a bit stale after playing for a good bit. So what will ya be, Criminal or Enforcer? I found the Criminal to be more fun myself.

No one really cares about this game?
It didn't live up to its expectations, but its still a really fun game for what it is.

I am currently downloading it.
I remember having very brief, very fun moments with the first game.
Getting in a good group, having a wheelman, and leaning out of a van shooting at people was awesome.

I have it installed, but I really want to burn through LA Noire before I start playing anything that may draw my attention too much.

I plan on trying it for the first time this weekend. No promises on how long my attention span will last though.

I am currently downloading it. I remember having very brief, very fun moments with the first game. Getting in a good group, having a wheelman, and leaning out of a van shooting at people was awesome. Thats about the best way to enjoy the game, with your group of 4 friends (real friends, not randoms) on voip with a beer or whatever. Tip on ejoying the game: Don't focus on its psuedo-RPG/MMO aspects and look @ it as more of a fun multiplayer shooter. Think a GTA like city, but cops are players too and you free roam and can flag your self for random matchmaking for 'missions' against other player. Spend a good ammount of time in the tutorial district learning the basics of the game before you move out to the harsh real world. People will eat you up there. Try to build your character up a bit before you move to real servers. And last tip CUSTOMIZE YOUR CHARACTER!!!! Nothing flags you as a noob more than walking around in the wife-beater starter clothes. The customization is one of the best in any game anyways, so its good to play with it.

I have been playing a lot the last few days, and am having a blast.
The core of the game seems the same, but the controls seem better to me. Might just be mis-remembering things, but it feels really good.
Playing Jabberant, and Enforcer on Joker server if any want to friend me.

*with sadness in his eyes*
I just read up on G1's micro-transaction cash shop for APB. You will be paying (too high imo too) for premium guns that aren't permanent and will degrade over time or something. I didn't get all the details on the non-permanent guns. Apparently its and 'underground market' with guns/equipment that comes and goes.
They released a permanent carbine rifle that totals over FIFTY USD in G-Coin currency. As usual with these types of services, the cash shop is set up so you are forced to buy more credits than you actually need.
I have a history with G1 in one of their oldest games, Knight Online. They are known for crafting a game to drain your wallets.
Responses from the community all follow the trend of "'Really? Do you think we're that dumb?" Hopefully the overwhelming number of negative responses will persuade G1 to rethink their pricing options. I pray that G1 won't kill this game for me, and others, with their terrible business model. ts so sad to see great games get killed by the freemium/micro-transaction business model. Happy Gaming everyone... hopefully.
Edit: Just got back from the APB forums. After reading some G1 responses to the negative community reactions, I might cease playing the game. G1 employees only respond to the 1 positive post out of 100. Their main argument against the haters being "You don't have to buy it." But atleast they claimed the high pricing was 'on their list of concerns.' Even though you can grind up and get a weaker version of the gun, this is bad stuff.

I just posted my thoughts: tinyurl.com/3ecg72oAs far as the cash shop stuff goes, I don't think it will bother me as long as I don't feel my in game abilities are out-matched. If I start seeing people with these guns and I feel as though I have no chance against them, I'll probably quit. I paid for a month of Premium, and with my history in MMO's, I may be gone by then anyways, but I'm enjoying the hell out of it for now. ;D

I deleted this game off my hard drive. It bored me and after reading about the cash shop worse than Allods; I am not interested in wasting my time with this.

I think the key difference here though is that the items you buy don't seem to make such a huge difference like they did in Allods. You still have to be able to aim your weapon. Like I said, I'm sure I'll be bored with it soon enough, but I'm enjoying it for as little as I have invested. It's totally not for everyone, just like how Fallen Earth isn't for everyone. But I'm going to have some neat stories to remember from my time playing. ;D

I have put a decent amount of time into it, and I haven't felt underpowered yet. When I die it's because I think I deserved to.
But if it does feel that way, where I have to pump out a lot of money to feel comparable, I will ditch it.
