LOTRO

I've been reading The Hobbit (graphic novel version) to my daughter lately, and it got me in the mood to boot up LOTRO. I have been gone a long time it seems. Winin the Lore Master is just shy of 24 on Nimrodel. And Winin the Hunter is level 13 on Landroval.
I got a zillion help popups, and a few levels with the xp change, so I'll have a lot of new spells to buy and learn. This game has a lot of data tracking/options. Traits and deeds and quests, oh my. And what is the Skirmish thing?
Anyone playing and around my levels? Is there a sidekick system of some sort?

No, unfortunately there is no sidekick system. I'm not sure what the grouping penalties are for differing levels, but I don't think they are harsh. I've grouped with people several levels higher and lower and didn't really notice a diff...but then again, I was having fun and not particularly scrutinizing my exp bar. you should definitely check your local game stores for a Mines of Moria box and buy it (assuming you dont already own it). You'll get a free month of VIP sub, permanent access to Runekeeper & Warden classes, permanently unlock several F2P limitations such as bags & gold max, etc. The box sets are all gone from stores around here, and increasing in price every day on ebay. Edit: as I said on Twitter, I have many characters ranging from 8 to 61. Pack on a couple more levels relearning the systems and your spells, and I can bring my Warden to group with you..hes 34. Skirmishes by the way are a great way to get experience, as well as some gear. There are some daily skirmishes you will get bonus experience for the first time you run them on a given day. When you open the skirmish panel, on the Skirmish tab they will have a quest ring on them. I also have several high skill crafters when the need for equipment comes up: Supreme Master Jeweler (Kindred with Jewelers Guild) Supreme Master Scholar (Kindred with Scholar Guild) Supreme Master Tailor (Kindred with Tailors Guild) Supreme Master Weaponsmith Supreme Master Cook Supreme Woodworker (Kindred with Woodworkers Guild) Supreme Metalsmith (getting there...) ...Yeah so I get a little crafter crazy sometimes

Awesome, I'll go hit Best Buy and see what they have.
I may be able to convince my family to restart LOTRO too. We'll have a separate pack of chars to play as the family group, and I'll stick with my LM.
