I've played City of Heroes/Villains, so I was thinking a bit about DC Universe Online. I've followed it a bit, and it may be fun, though it's a bit different than other MMOs in the super sub-genre. Looks like it'll run with PC and some consoles, though you only have 6 abilities available to you at any one time. Apparently those are mapped to the controller, hmm. Thoughts? Ideas? Opinions?
Why do they call you 'Cockknocker?"
Well, it's an interesting story really, you see.." WHAM!

I'm in the beta, and it is pretty click heavy to get all your combos and special moves, but it is pretty fun. An action game for sure. I haven't done any grouping, but with all the clicking going on, chatting seems restricted to voice or out of combat. I preordered, so I'll play a month and see how I'm feeling. I love cruising around Gotham, and visually it is awesome. I like the feel better than the other super hero games: more heroic, more comic-style stories, lots of action, but the pace is too fast for my tastes. I get sore hands from all the clicking, and I have a hard time warming up to the controller (instead of keyboard/mouse).

I had this game reserved since it was announced because I am kind of a super-hero nerd. I played CoH/CoV for around 4 years, so this was right up my alley. When I finally got into the beta I was playing the crap out of the game. It grows on you, and you get used to the way they made the game work. It is similar to Guild Wars in that you have to pick what abilities you are going to be using at any given time, there are not really additional hotbars to be had (at least from the last I played it).
Unfortunately, it felt repetitive to me and ultimately did not hold me over content wise. Also, the customization at character creation leaves something to be desired. They opted for the player to earn costume pieces by playing instead. I think I might get it at some point but I un-reserved it from Gamestop and moved that money to Rift. I would say if you love super heroes and are able to adapt to a console style game, go for it.

I admit this game looks great but i am unsure as to if i get it to go console or PC. I am correct in that the console version and PC versions don't mix correct (i.e. if Winin is on console and i am on PC we cant group)? If thats the case what would everyone recommend for choice?

I don't think they have mixed servers. I am a PC guy, so I'll be on the PC. I just can't warm up to controllers.
