Skirmishes / Dungeon Delve Info
"L" brings up a list of suggested content, including skirmishes, dungeons, foundry missions & list of upcoming bonus events. The group leader can queue up the party if everyone is within the level range. Please be aware, if you don’t have a full party, there may be a wait for the queue to pop. For dungeons, members of your party can be outside of the level range, but you’ll have to travel to the actual dungeon entrance to enter as a group.
List of Skirmishes
Skirmishes are player-vs-environment private instances that (so far) take place in outdoor environments and which are balanced for groups of five characters. They are similar to Dungeon Delves, but usually shorter and often involve staying in a fixed area while defeating multiple waves of foes.Skirmishes awards an achievement which can be earned during normal leveling, or during the "Call to Arms" event. A Call to Arms is the only means to earn those achievements for a character that has exceeded the max level for each indicated in the table below.
Call to Arms Skirmish
A Call to Arms is an enhanced, limited time version of a normal skirmish that permits levels 6-70 to queue for it. These events have enhanced drop tables with special items like rare pets and themed weapons intended for transmute use. Teams can be mixed between a wide level range, and each character is scaled to level 60 for the skirmish. It appears that each character will appear to themselves to be flagged as the party leader when entering the queue singly. When joining a team then leadership will be assigned as normal. A Call to Arms only counts as a level appropriate skirmish for Daily Skirmish purposes if the normal version would be in the correct range for the character. A Call to Arms does count as a Skirmish for purposes of earning the Skirmish event hour reward of 1000 Rough Astral Diamond. A Call to Arms does count towards earning a Skirmish's achievement. Loot Mode is always set to Round Robin. General monster drops appear to be dictated by the level of the character that dealt the majority of damage to monster, so in a group of mixed low and high level characters much of the gear dropped will be unusable by the lower level ones.
Event Skirmishes
Certain calendar events include limited-time skirmishes. Examples so far include Respen's Marvelous Game and the Protector's Jubilee.
List of Dungeons
Dungeons are player-vs-environment private instances that (so far) take place in indoor environments and which are balanced for groups of five characters. They are similar to Skirmishes, but usually longer, involving exploring some kind of structure and facing several bosses. Note normal dungeons may be entered at anytime, by any party with any number of players. Epic dungeons have heavy restrictions that force you to use the queue system, which requires 5 players, a random leader, minimum gear score requirements and other restrictions.
1. This dungeon was removed in Module 6: Elemental Evil.
Leveling Dungeons (3 players)
At the launch of Elemental Evil players will be able to queue up for reworked 3 man versions of their favorite dungeons starting with Cragmire Crypts at level 19, Gray Wolf Den at 36 and finally Temple of the Spider at level 50. Leveling dungeons have been designed with a team made up of any three classes in mind. Defeating bosses and opening the chest at the end of the dungeon with a Daily Dungeon Chest Key will yield powerful rare equipment. Daily Dungeon Chest Keys will open any Dungeon Chest and are available for free from the Dungeon Chest Keymaster in Protector's Enclave. Once claimed the Daily Dungeon Chest Key will remain in your invetory until used to open a Dungeon Chest. The key is consumed on use. A character may only have a single Daily Dungeon Chest Key at any given time. These keys are bound and may not be transferred to other players.
Endgame Dungeons & Skirmishes (5 players)
The newly reworked endgame dungeons have been designed with a team of five players, including a tank and a healer in mind. These challenging encounters will only be available at level 70 and will be split across two tiers, each with distinct total item level requirements (more info).
Dungeon Delve
Starting a delve during the "Dungeon Delves" event unlocks an additional treasure chest for each party member upon successful completion of the dungeon. You do not need to complete it during the event window, you will get the chest as long as you started it during the event window. The chest contains additional matching tier seals (2-5) as well 1 random shard (epic delves only), and 1 random rare or epic item useable by the players class.
