Lets chat about Neverwinter classes

Help me decide.  I've played Healer classes most of my MMO career and I enjoy them (and I think I'm an ok healer for raids and such), but I'm deciding between the Cleric and the Large Weapon Fighter dude for this game.  Is there a distinct lack of one or the other for groups and such? 

I'd like to hear from people that play both sides on the benefits or problems with each in the current game.  I'm all about grouping so whatever will help the Neverwinter folks I'm all for.

There are 100000000000 GWFs out there. They are the current FoTM. Not as many clerics, so probably easier to find a group that way. But harder to solo while waiting on a group. And if you use the dungeon/skirmish finder, you'll get groups regardless of class. I suggest playing both to 10 or so and see which style suits you best. Cleric is more of a spell caster/buffer than a healer, so don't expect to hang out and just heal like in other games.

GWF is great....been playing one since day one. I don't recommend it if you like PVP, however. There you would definitely want a ranged DPS or Trickster. GWF suffers from the typical melee-only drawbacks of PVP: getting chewed up and stunned before even making contact.
I have a 38 Cleric alt, and she's fun. I haven't tried PVP with her yet, though.

Good call Grilled, thanks.  I'll try a Trickster and a Cleric and see what's what.  Sounds like there is a good balance of classes in the game for groups so we'll see which I like better.

Now if Zeli would just get me the TS password I'd be set!

There are lots of TRs as well as GWF, and the Guardian Fighter (tank) isn't that necessary in dungeons (according to the masses, I find them great to play/have around). I always hear people calling out for Clerics and Wizards. But there are a lot of wizards too.

Just as a FYI, not trying to steer you. It is all fun and the group finder doesn't care what class (if you can enjoy PUGs). I'm not really a melee guy, so I mostly play my Wiz and Cleric.

All great information.  Thanks guys.  I hate coming into a game blind so this is helpful.  Tryin out the Rogue now.  Going for a high Int rogue for stealth... good times.
