But I can set Dvorak in windows then pop the keys off and reset them properly.

I need to find a decent mechanical keyboard with backlit keys, and not any wider than my current 17.5" one. I like the Cooler Master CM Storm QuickFire Pro Mechanical , but its 17.9". Might have to settle for that one, unless I can find an alternative.

Why did you get that one? And how is it? I had been wanting to go mechanical for a while now. Mostly because of the talk about how they felt more satisfying to type on. After using it for a couple nights, it's true. It just feels good. The board itself is nice a heavy so it doesn't move around at all. Even my Logitech G15 (and it's much larger footprint) had a tendency to scoot around. I chose the WASD board because of the customization options. I could choose the switches as well as the color of the keycaps. I went with the semi-custom which allowed me to pick the overall key color, the Escape key and the WASD key colors. If you pay a little more you can use their customizer and pick a color for each individual key.

I like Logitech as well (LOOOOVE my G700), but the reviews of their Mechanical board are pretty middling. Frankly, they (as well as Razer) made their mechanicals aimed towards gamers. That's not a bad thing, but they sacrificed some quality to keep the price lower. Word is that the G710+ feels pretty cheap. Heck, even my G15 feels very cheap compared to the WASD. The thing is a brick.

Still love it!
The clicks are so satisfying. Typing on a normal keyboard still feels fine, but mushy in comparison. I can see changing out all the keycaps in a few years once I get bored with the colors, but hopefully it will be the last keyboard I buy for a long long time.

Cool, I may have to make the plunge. I'm not sure I can give up my ergo layout though. More desk space would be nice on the other hand.

If you're using an ergo keyboard, I'm guessing that getting used to a non-ergo will take a while. Just as the inverse would be true for me at this point. I've sat down at an ergo before and it feels sooooo strange.

Yeah. I don't do as much typing as I used to, so I don't think I really need the ergo so much. Desk space might be nice.
